The Tandem
Will it CLUG is a segment we'll do from time to time, where we push CLUG to the limit - test it with crazy and amazing bikes (and other stuff too). It will be a ton of fun AND it should help you get an idea of whether or not your bike will CLUG before ordering.
For the first instalment of Will It CLUG, we're starting from within the CLUG team. This bike belongs to Liam, one of our designers, and his wife Shannon. It's a Thorn Raven touring tandem they've used on many road trips - including a 6 month journey across South-East Asia. It's a pretty beastly ride, built to withstand serious punishment under extreme circumstances so it's not light, and it's very long.
So - the big question - Will it CLUG?
It certainly will! Those 1.9" tires fit perfectly into the CLUG Hybrid so it has a really solid hold on the bike. The hardest part is standing it upright to get it in there in the first place - it's definitely a two person job (which suits the tandem just fine).
